💭 My personal opinion:
I started reading Apocalypse: I Built the Infinite Train without much expectation, just to pass the time… but I got completely hooked. The story is incredibly engaging, full of mysteries that constantly spark curiosity. The protagonist is decent — he’s not a super genius, but he’s not dumb either, and the best part is that he actually admits when he messes up, which makes for some really fun moments.
Since it's a Chinese novel with harem elements, I’ll say upfront that some typical genre situations might not be for everyone. I’ll admit a few parts bothered me a bit, but nothing that really got in the way of the reading — at least for me, it went down smoothly.
The author also surprises with unexpected humor and brilliant references. There's a scene inspired by Pacific Rim that came out of nowhere and made me laugh out loud (I still can’t believe the author pulled that off) — it’s the kind of surprise that gives the story real personality. I’ve read up to chapter 234, and as of this post, 340 chapters have been released. And yes: if it keeps going the way it is, I definitely want to keep reading.
If you enjoy apocalyptic stories with action, mystery, and a well-balanced dose of chaos, this one’s worth it. Let me know if you decide to hop on this crazy train — I want to hear what you think too!
